A MATTER OF CARE

INSTALLATION

2018

A Matter of Care explores my evolving relationship with clay as a being. The malleable substance is my companion, my caregiver, and my ancestor. In each photograph, the same clay body is present and recording the imprint of my actions. It reacts to my weight and touch, and embraces me where I embrace it. The clay's function mimics my own as a repeating practice of care.

The works accumulated into an immersive exhibition, displaying four images alongside the same mass of clay used and reused in each image.
